Cookie Policy
Last updated: April 15, 2025
Novyse does not track you. We do not use profiling cookies, marketing trackers, or third-party behavioral analytics on our landing page. This Cookie Policy explains the minimal technical storage mechanisms we use and why our website operates cleanly without requiring an intrusive cookie consent banner.
1. What Are Cookies and Local Storage?
Cookies are small text files placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. Similar browser technologies, such as local storage (localStorage), allow websites to store key-value pairs directly in your browser without sending data back and forth to a web server on every HTTP request.
2. Why We Do Not Display a Cookie Consent Banner
Under the EU ePrivacy Directive (Directive 2002/58/EC amended by 2009/136/EC) and the guidelines issued by the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, Guidelines of June 10, 2021), prior consent is not required for:
- Technical storage strictly necessary for the transmission of communications over an electronic communications network; or
- Storage strictly necessary to provide an information society service explicitly requested by the user (such as saving your preferred Dark/Light appearance theme).
Because Novyse does not deploy profiling cookies, ad tracking networks, or invasive analytics, a consent banner is not legally necessary. We respect your browsing experience and keep our website fast, clean, and pop-up free.
3. Technical Storage Mechanisms in Use
The following table provides full transparency regarding the technical storage mechanisms utilized across Novyse web properties:
| Storage Key | Technology | Legal Category | Duration | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| theme | localStorage | Technical / Preference | Persistent | Remembers your user-selected visual theme (dark, light, or system default) to prevent screen flickering. |
| auth_token / session | localStorage / Cookie | Strictly Necessary | Session | Maintains authenticated communication and WebSocket sessions when using app.novyse.com. |
4. Managing Storage via Browser Settings
Even though we only use strictly necessary technical storage, you retain full control over your device. You can configure your browser to block, clear, or alert you whenever cookies or local storage items are created.
To manage or clear storage in your browser:
- Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Apple Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies
Note: Clearing your browser's local storage will simply reset your theme preference back to your system default.
